Ways to Become A Tax Fighter:
You can
help us hold elected officials
accountable for their fiscal
decisions.
Here's how:
1) Show Up.
- Attend meetings of Concerned Taxpayers
of Manchester - We meet each month to discuss how we can be
better watchdogs for the taxpayers of
Manchester
2) Speak out.
- Write letters to the Union Leader and
Hippo Press about what concerns you about taxing and
spending
- Make your voice heard at meetings of
Manchester's Board of Mayor and Aldermen and Board of School
Committee during "public comment time"
- Call your elected representatives or
drop them a note saying you want them to be fiscally
responsible with your tax
dollars
3) Get active.
- Support candidates for office who
think they way you do about taxes and spending - then hold
the winners accountable
- Participate actively in discussions
about taxes and how they're raised and spent with friends
and family
- Be an active member of Concerned
Taxpayers - but don't just grumble: ACT! Add your creative
ideas to the ongoing discussion
- Start a project to raise awareness of
tax policy in Manchester. Seek out those who will help you
and hold "Meetups," in local cafes or in online chats
